Fivetran

More usage moves the bill
What you pay for
Monthly active rows, or MAR, priced connection by connection, plus model runs.
Entry price
Free up to 500,000 MAR. On paid plans each active connection starts at a $5.00 base, and 1 million MAR on one connection is $500.00 on Standard.
What makes the bill jump
Tables that change often, and history mode, where repeated updates to a row count as more rows.

HubSpot

More people and more usage move the bill
What you pay for
Seats, a Marketing Hub base fee, marketing contacts above your plan, extra credits and one-time onboarding.
Entry price
Free for 2 users. Starter lists at $20.00 a seat a month, with a limited new-customer offer from $7.00.
What makes the bill jump
Moving to Professional, which adds a $800.00 Marketing Hub base and $3,000 onboarding, and contact tiers that rise by themselves.

Why is software pricing so hard to compare?

Each vendor bills a different unit. Snowflake sells credits, Databricks DBUs and Fivetran monthly active rows. Salesforce sells seats, HubSpot mixes seats with marketing contacts, and Klaviyo and Mailchimp price your list. One company can look cheap on one tool and expensive on another, so compare your own usage instead of headline prices.

Do more people or more usage raise the bill?

It depends on the unit. Snowflake, Databricks and Fivetran follow usage, so extra readers cost little by themselves. Salesforce follows people, so each seat adds to the bill. HubSpot follows both. Klaviyo and Mailchimp follow your list size, so a bigger audience costs more even when your team stays the same.

Are these real prices?

They’re list prices read from each vendor’s own page, linked on every row. Negotiated deals, annual terms and regional prices can differ, so treat them as a starting point. Each calculator’s company examples are worked examples with the assumptions shown. None of them are client results, and we leave out anything a vendor doesn’t publish.
