Blazing fast implementation, backed by 74+ martech, data and growth stacks*

dbt implementation and analytics engineering for metrics everyone agrees on

We set up dbt on Snowflake or BigQuery, on dbt Core or the dbt platform, with layered models for marketing, product and revenue, tests on every key table, CI and docs, so every report and AI agent uses the same definitions.

What our dbt implementation includes

Analytics engineers who move your logic into a tested dbt project, define each metric once and wire in CI and alerts, so a broken source fails a test before it reaches a report.

  • Project and environments

A dbt project in your Git repository with development, CI and production environments, on dbt Core or the dbt platform.

  • Layered models

Staging, intermediate and mart models for customers, accounts, campaigns, subscriptions and revenue, named so anyone can follow them. See data warehouse design.

  • Tests and data quality

Tests for uniqueness, nulls, relationships and the business rules your reports rely on, so bad data fails a build, not a meeting. See dbt tests.

  • Incremental models

Large tables built incrementally, with a safe way to backfill, so runs stay fast and warehouse cost stays flat. See dbt incremental backfills.

  • Metrics and semantic layer

Revenue, retention, CAC and other metrics defined once, so BI tools and AI read the same numbers. See semantic layers for AI.

  • CI, docs and alerts

Pull request checks, generated docs with lineage, and alerts when a run or a freshness check fails.

Ask your models anything, in plain English

With dbt and your warehouse connected to Claude over MCP, your team asks about metrics and lineage in plain English, AI answers from your definitions, and agents explain failed runs and what they affect.

  • What was net revenue retention by plan last quarter, using our dbt definition?. Queries the semantic layer over MCP.
  • Which models and dashboards break if we rename plan_tier in stg_billing?. Reads dbt lineage over MCP.
  • Why did last night's run fail, and which models are now stale?. Reads dbt run results.
  • dbt with MCP

dbt connected to Claude, Cursor or Claude Code through the dbt MCP server, with the project, lineage and metrics as context.

  • Definitions AI can trust

AI answers from metrics defined once in dbt, not from SQL it guesses.

  • AI help for your analysts

Claude Code writing and refactoring models to your style guide, with tests run before anything is merged.

  • Run alerts with context

Agents that explain a failed run in plain English and list the reports it affects.

With every implementation

  • Yours after handover

The MCP access, the agents and the docs live in your own accounts. Your team runs it all with AI, without depending on us.

  • No retainer needed

A one-time setup at a fixed price. There is no monthly retainer to keep it running, so your costs go down over time.

  • Right from day one

Anyone can set up a tool with AI, but it's only as good as what the AI guesses. We know what works from 74+ implementations.

  • Free martech AI agent

Every implementation includes it: slash commands and skills that run your whole stack in Claude Code.

    See the agent

Who our dbt implementation is for

Most teams come to us at one of four points, and the scope is written for yours before any work starts.

Not the right fit for heavy data engineering such as streaming pipelines or machine learning platforms. We model marketing, product and revenue data for reporting and activation.

  • A first dbt project

You have a warehouse full of raw data and SQL in dashboards. We set up dbt and move the logic in. See is dbt still free.

  • A dbt project that grew messy

Hundreds of models, few tests and slow runs. We refactor, test and document. See dbt implementation mistakes.

  • Moving from scripts or Dataform

Scheduled queries, stored procedures or another tool moved into dbt; a large body of logic is priced as a custom plan.

  • No analytics engineer yet

You need trustworthy metrics without a full-time hire. We build the project and train whoever will own it.

dbt with the rest of your stack

dbt sits between loading and everything that reads your data. We connect both sides, so models run when data lands and reports read only tested tables.

What's not included

So the fixed price covers exactly what we build, and nothing comes as a surprise later.

  • dbt platform seats

dbt Core is free. If you choose the dbt platform, its seats and usage are billed by dbt Labs.

  • Warehouse compute

Snowflake or BigQuery compute used by dbt runs is billed to your account. Incremental models keep it low.

  • Machine learning models

We model data for reporting and activation. Forecasting or machine learning work is scoped separately.

Sound familiar?

  • Revenue has four definitions.

One per dashboard, none of them documented.

  • The SQL lives in dashboards.

    Copied, edited and never tested.

  • A source change breaks things quietly.

Nobody hears until the board meeting.

  • The nightly run takes hours.

Full rebuilds of tables that barely changed.

We move your logic into a tested dbt project, define each metric once, build large tables incrementally, and add CI and alerts, so a broken source fails a test before it reaches a report.

“Faizur helped us transfer Google Analytics conversion events to Google Ads via Segment. We set that up within two or three weeks. Now we have a clear vision of our conversions and we could optimize our campaigns like this. Because if your tracking is not on point, you can't really improve your Google Ads performance.”

“We worked with Faizur when we wanted to set up Mixpanel. What I loved was how detail-oriented he was, and that he wasn't just there to accomplish that one task. He was able to advise us. He suggested setting up Segment and he thought about everything at a macro level, all the way down to the micro. It gave me confidence to outsource this.”

“We recently had the pleasure of working with Faiz on our integration of Segment. Not only did he help us seamlessly set up the integration, but he also went above and beyond to help us establish dashboards in Mixpanel. What was super valuable was having somebody who understood both the business/marketing requirements but also had the technical expertise to execute them.”

dbt implementation questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Email hello@martechdevs.com or book a free call.

How much does a dbt implementation cost?

Growth is $12,150 (25% off $16,200), live in 12 weeks, at a fixed price with no hourly billing. Eligible startups get 40% off the list price instead. More brands, markets or a migration from another tool make it a custom plan, priced before work starts. dbt Core is free; dbt platform seats and warehouse compute are billed by their vendors. See the fixed price packages.

What is dbt?

dbt, the data build tool, turns raw warehouse tables into clean, tested models using SQL, with version control, tests and documentation. Analysts write select statements; dbt builds them in the right order and checks the results.

How much does dbt cost?

dbt Core is open source and free. The dbt platform, formerly dbt Cloud, adds a browser IDE, scheduling and the hosted semantic layer, billed by seat and usage. Many small teams run dbt Core on a scheduler. See is dbt still free.

dbt Core or the dbt platform?

dbt Core suits teams comfortable with Git and a scheduler. The dbt platform suits teams that want a browser IDE, managed runs and the hosted semantic layer. We set up either and can move you between them.

Does the Fivetran and dbt Labs merger change anything?

Not for a working dbt project. Fivetran and dbt Labs completed their merger in June 2026, and dbt Core remains open source, so your models keep running. We tell you if a product change affects your setup.

Do we need dbt if we already use Fivetran?

Yes, for anything beyond raw tables. Fivetran loads data as it looks in each tool; dbt turns it into customers, campaigns and revenue that make sense across tools. See Fivetran implementation.

Dataform or dbt?

Dataform is built into BigQuery and fine for BigQuery-only teams. dbt works on any warehouse and has the larger ecosystem of packages, tests and tools. We use whichever fits your stack.

How long does a dbt implementation take?

Growth goes live in 12 weeks, or 6 weeks on super fast. A large migration of existing SQL is a custom plan with its own timeline.

Who owns the dbt project?

You do. The repository, the project and its docs live in your Git account and your warehouse, and we work through access you can revoke at any time.

What happens after launch?

Growth includes 90 days of support after handover, up to 30 hours. It covers fixes, questions and small changes to models and tests. After that your team runs it with the docs and your martech AI agent, or keeps us on a retainer from $1,980 a month.
