What does a Zoho MCP server do?

A Zoho MCP server lets an AI assistant read and change data in Zoho apps through tools. Zoho CRM's servers cover records, modules, fields and workflows. Zoho MCP reaches other Zoho apps such as Mail, Desk and Projects, plus third-party apps, and you pick the tools each server holds.

• Zoho MCP: you create a server in the console, add tools from each app and connect the server's URL to your AI client.
• Zoho CRM servers: Data Insights, Data Operations, Module Customization and Workflow & Process Automation come pre-built, with nothing to host. You install the ones you need.
• The two overlap. A server you build in Zoho MCP can hold Zoho CRM tools, so check which product a guide means before you copy its steps.

Is there an official Zoho MCP server?

Yes. Zoho publishes all of them. Zoho MCP is its own Zoho product, the four CRM servers sit in the Zoho CRM developer docs, and the Zoho CRM connector in Claude is listed as made by Zoho. You don't need a third party for any of these routes.

• The Zoho MCP path starts in the console for your region, such as mcp.zoho.com for the US.

What is the Zoho MCP server URL, and how do you sign in?

There is no single URL. A Zoho MCP server gets its own URL with a key inside it when you create it. Each Zoho CRM server has its own published URL. Claude's connector uses a URL per region, such as https://claude-zohocrm.zohomcp.com/mcp/message. Zoho CRM servers and Zoho MCP tools sign in with OAuth.

• Zoho says to treat your MCP server URL like a password. If it leaks, use Regenerate API Key in the Connect section.
• On a CRM server, your first tool call starts an OAuth flow, and actions stay within your CRM permissions.
• Zoho MCP has two sign-in modes. Authorization on Demand uses each person's own account. Authorization via Connections lets a Super Admin share access with members.
• To switch orgs or users on a CRM server, disconnect it in your AI tool and sign in again.

What can a Zoho MCP server read and change?

It depends on the server. Zoho CRM's Data Insights server is read-only. Data Operations creates, updates and deletes records. Module Customization and Workflow & Process Automation change your CRM setup. In Zoho MCP, the tools you add decide what a client can do, and your own Zoho permissions still apply.

• Zoho MCP: write tools you add, such as updateLeadsRecords and sendEmail.

How do you set up a Zoho MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor?

Zoho documents all three, with different routes. In Claude, add the listed Zoho CRM connector, or a custom connector with your server URL. In ChatGPT, Zoho's steps use a server built in Zoho MCP, and its CRM docs don't cover ChatGPT. In Cursor, install from Zoho CRM's Developer Hub or the Zoho MCP console.

What can you ask a Zoho MCP server?

Good first prompts use the Data Insights server, stay read-only and name a date range. Zoho's own examples include deals closing this month and leads created last week. The write examples below fit Data Operations and Module Customization, and they ask the assistant to show its work before any change.

What are the limits of a Zoho MCP server?

MCP calls use normal API credits. Zoho CRM's 24-hour allowance is 5,000 credits on Free. Paid editions get 50,000 plus 250 to 2,000 credits per user, up to 100,000 on Standard and 5,000,000 on Enterprise. A COQL query costs 1 to 3 credits. Zoho MCP adds no limits of its own.

• Professional tops out at 3,000,000 credits in 24 hours. Ultimate has no stated maximum.
• Bigger calls cost more: a new custom field costs 10 credits and a new custom module 500.
• Zoho caps calls at once at 5 on Free and 25 on Ultimate, per org and per app.
• Zoho's FAQ sets no cap on servers or tools. It suggests 300 tools per server in one answer and around 100 in another, and says Cursor allows 40.
• Zoho MCP keeps logs for 30 days.
• Deleted CRM records go to the recycle bin, where you can restore them before they're permanently removed.

How much does a Zoho MCP server cost?

Connecting costs nothing. Zoho says Zoho MCP is included at no additional cost for all Zoho users, and usage draws on each app's existing API quota. Zoho CRM is free for 3 users. Paid editions run from $14 to $52 a user a month, billed annually. Third-party apps use their own quotas.

• Annual prices in USD: Standard $14, Professional $23, Enterprise $40 and Ultimate $52 a user a month.
• Zoho's FAQ says it will tell users in advance if pricing is introduced.
• Extra API credits are billed monthly for what you use. Zoho's page shows no rate.
• Zoho hasn't said which CRM editions include the four CRM servers. Its overview only asks for a Zoho CRM account with the right permissions.

What are the alternatives to a Zoho MCP server?

The main alternatives are an automation bridge, a warehouse, or another CRM's server. Zapier can expose Zoho CRM actions as MCP tools, and each tool call uses two Zapier tasks. The CRM MCP comparison sets Zoho CRM beside HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio, Pipedrive and Dynamics 365.
