What does a Pendo MCP server do?

The Pendo MCP server lets an AI client query analytics, retrieve guides and surface Pendo insights. It reads visitor and account data, feature usage, guide metrics, session replay and Listen feedback. With write tools on, it can create feedback items, ideas and segments, and it can work on Orchestrate journeys.

• Transport: a hosted service over Streamable HTTP, with a fallback to Server-Sent Events.
• Agent Toolkit: a separate beta endpoint at /mcp/visitor/shttp has one tool, getInAppGuidance, for serving guides through your own agent.

Is there an official Pendo MCP server?

Yes. Pendo publishes the server and its docs on its own support site, and its AI release notes marked it generally available in April 2026. Claude's directory lists the connector as made by Pendo. Pendo also describes an official ChatGPT app and a Cursor integration.

What is the Pendo MCP server URL, and how do you sign in?

The URL depends on your region. US is https://app.pendo.io/mcp/v0/shttp, and US1, EU, Japan and Australia have their own hosts. Use the host you sign in to Pendo with. People sign in with OAuth and their Pendo login. Service accounts cover agents that run with nobody signed in.

• The other URLs are https://us1.app.pendo.io/mcp/v0/shttp, https://app.eu.pendo.io/mcp/v0/shttp, https://app.jpn.pendo.io/mcp/v0/shttp and https://app.au.pendo.io/mcp/v0/shttp.
• A subscription admin turns the server on under Settings > Subscription settings > AI access. After that, any Pendo user can connect.
• OAuth covers every subscription you belong to in one region. A service account covers one subscription.
• Service accounts need the Pendo API package. Their tokens last 60 minutes, with no refresh token.

What can a Pendo MCP server read and change?

Read-only tools query visitors, accounts, usage, guides and feedback. Write tools are an admin opt-in, and the read-only toggle has to be on first. They can publish a guide, create or delete segments and build Orchestrate journeys. Some tools need Guides Pro, NPS, Sentiment, Orchestrate or Session Replay.

• Orchestrate: journey and email tools such as createOrchestrateJourneyFromTemplate and setOrchestrateJourneySchedule.
• Command Center: updateCommandCenterApp and promoteDiscoveryApp, off until Pendo Support turns them on.

How do you set up a Pendo MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor?

Pendo documents all three. A subscription admin first turns on read-only tools under Settings > Subscription settings > AI access. A Claude admin then adds Pendo, and each user connects. ChatGPT's official app covers US and EU, and Cursor's integration covers US. Other regions use a custom connection with the regional URL.

What are the limits of a Pendo MCP server?

Limits are set per tool. sessionReplayList stops at 50 replays and 31 days, getFeedbackItems at 30 items a call, and most usage tools at 367 days. Each connection covers one region, and no sign-in method crosses regions. Pendo hasn't published a rate limit.

• OAuth sessions end at the admin-set maximum, and refreshing the token doesn't extend them.
• Each subscription allows up to 25 service accounts. Pendo advises against using them in systems where end users can submit queries.
• Command Center tools are off until Pendo Support turns them on.
• Feedback text comes from customers, so keep tools that read it out of chats that can also publish or change data.

How much does a Pendo MCP server cost?

Pendo lists no separate price for the server, and Pendo Free includes it. Free covers up to 500 monthly active users. Base, Core and Ultimate show Request pricing with no public numbers, and price depends on monthly active users and features. Service accounts need the Pendo API package, and Pendo Free has no API access.
