Marketo MCP

Adobe runs an official Marketo Engage MCP server at https://marketo-mcp.adobe.io/mcp, and its docs list 182 operations across assets, lead data and campaign automation. You sign in with a Client ID, Client Secret and Munchkin ID sent as headers, and the server only accepts approved instances. Adobe lists no read-only mode, so the API user's role sets what an assistant can do.

What does the Marketo MCP server do?

The Marketo Engage MCP server connects an AI assistant to Marketo through its REST APIs, and Adobe's docs say you install no server software. It browses and builds forms, programs, smart campaigns, emails and snippets, finds and creates leads, and manages static lists. Adobe lists 182 operations, and a category doesn't guarantee every REST endpoint.

Is there an official Marketo MCP server?

Yes. Adobe publishes and hosts it, and documents it in the Marketo developer guide. Its May 2026 release notes listed an open beta, and its on-demand session page now calls the server generally available. Adobe provides it as is and says customers are responsible for evaluating its security and suitability.

What is the Marketo MCP server URL, and how do you sign in?

The URL is https://marketo-mcp.adobe.io/mcp. Every request needs three headers: X-Marketo-Client-Id, X-Marketo-Client-Secret and X-Marketo-Munchkin-Id. An admin copies the Client ID and secret from LaunchPoint and finds the Munchkin Account ID under Admin > Munchkin. Adobe's setup steps have no browser sign-in, so the credentials sit in your client config.

What can the Marketo MCP server read and change?

Adobe lists no read-only mode. A connection inherits the permissions of the API-only user behind its LaunchPoint service. For read-only use, give that user's role only the Read-Only permissions in the Access API group. With write permissions the server can build and activate smart campaigns, and a Send Email flow step reaches real people.

What it can read

What it can change

How do you set up the Marketo MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor?

An admin first creates a dedicated API user and LaunchPoint service. Adobe documents Claude Desktop through a bridge script, plus Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code with Copilot, Gemini CLI, Copilot Studio and Glean. Adobe names no ChatGPT steps. Once connected, Adobe suggests asking the assistant to list channels without changing any data.

Claude

Adobe documents Claude Desktop through a local bridge script that needs Node.js, and Claude Code through a header command. It has no steps for Claude's custom connector. The generic route there is the Request headers field, and on Team and Enterprise plans everyone then shares those credentials.

  1. Download marketo-mcp-bridge.zip from Adobe's page, unzip it and note the path to marketo-mcp-bridge.mjs.
  2. In Claude Desktop, open Settings > Developer > Edit Config and add the entry below.
  3. Restart Claude Desktop.
  4. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http marketo https://marketo-mcp.adobe.io/mcp with one --header flag per credential, then check with /mcp.

ChatGPT

Adobe names no ChatGPT steps. ChatGPT's custom MCP form offers OAuth or no authentication. This server needs three credential headers, so that form can't connect to it.

Cursor

Adobe documents Cursor. Add the entry below to ~/.cursor/mcp.json or .cursor/mcp.json, then open Customize in Cursor and confirm the server is on.

What can you ask the Marketo MCP server?

Good first prompts read data and change nothing, such as an active campaign list. These examples follow prompts Adobe publishes for smart campaigns, snippets, leads and programs. The clone example writes to your instance, so try it in a sandbox first. Your API user's permissions decide which of these work.

  • Reads

What smart campaigns are active right now? List them and don't change anything.

  • Reads

Show me the flow steps in the Welcome Email campaign and point out any step that sends an email.

  • Reads

What assets use the Holiday Promo snippet? List them by type.

  • Reads

Find the lead with email jane@example.com and show their main fields.

  • Writes

Clone the Q4 Webinar program into the 2026 Events folder. Don't activate anything, and show me what you created.

What are the limits of the Marketo MCP server?

The server inherits your instance's API limits. Adobe's REST docs set 50,000 calls a day per subscription, 100 calls per 20 seconds and 10 concurrent calls per instance. Client-credential connections don't get SMS, push or in-app tools, user management or bulk service tools. Adobe says a dedicated API user helps you track quota.

How much does the Marketo MCP server cost?

Adobe's MCP page lists no fee, add-on or edition requirement for the server, and no Marketo Engage price. You need a Marketo instance with REST API access, and the server runs on your existing API limits. Adobe says your account manager can raise the daily quota.

  • Adobe's product docs say CX Enterprise Coworker for Marketo Engage is available to all subscriptions.

What are the alternatives to the Marketo MCP server?

Adobe's own CX Enterprise Coworker runs inside Marketo, with skills for planning campaigns, building programs and validating setups. Zapier can expose a smaller set of Marketo operations as MCP tools, such as creating leads and programs. For reporting, a warehouse server reads Marketo data that's already synced, so each question doesn't call Marketo's API.

  • CX Enterprise Coworker: Adobe's assistant inside Marketo, opened from My Marketo.
  • Zapier MCP: Lead, company and program actions through one Zapier connection.
  • Snowflake MCP: Campaign reporting, if Marketo data lands in your warehouse.
  • HubSpot MCP: An official hosted server, if you run HubSpot beside or instead of Marketo.

Which skill goes with the Marketo MCP server?

Use the free Agent write safety skill before you give the API user any Read-Write permission, because a live smart campaign can email real people. Use the Marketing context kit to write down your lifecycle stages, program names and field definitions once, so every answer starts from the same rules and the assistant has less to guess.
