What does a LinkedIn Ads MCP server do?
A LinkedIn Ads MCP server lets an assistant read Campaign Manager data and, where allowed, change campaigns. LinkedIn's own ChatGPT app only reads ad set performance. Elsewhere, you use a third party's server or run a community server against LinkedIn's Marketing API. Windsor.ai lists 240 LinkedIn Ads fields, including spend, clicks and Lead Gen Form activity.
- Reporting comes from LinkedIn's Ad Analytics API, which returns account, campaign and creative statistics on spend, clicks and impressions.
- Campaign changes need a member with the right role. LinkedIn limits
rw_adsto billing admins, account managers, campaign managers and creative managers.
Is there an official LinkedIn Ads MCP server?
Only in ChatGPT. OpenAI's plugin directory lists a LinkedIn Ads app with LinkedIn as the developer, in beta and read-only. LinkedIn has published no server URL for other clients, and its developer site shows a Develop with MCP link with no public docs behind it. Windsor.ai and Supermetrics run third-party connectors, and community servers run on your machine.
- LinkedIn Ads app for ChatGPT: made by LinkedIn. It covers a limited set of functions, and LinkedIn says that may expand.
- LinkedIn Hiring Pro: LinkedIn's server in Claude's directory only posts jobs, so it doesn't help with ads.
- Windsor.ai: a hosted server from Windsor.ai, a third party, with a listing in Claude.
- Supermetrics: a hosted server from Supermetrics, a third party, with a listing in Claude.
GroMarketing/linkedin-ads-readonly-mcp: an MIT community server that only sends GET requests. Its page shows 4 commits and no releases, so read the code before you use it.danielpopamd/linkedin-ads-mcp: an MIT community server from consultant Daniel Popa, with 25 tools that include create, update and delete.
What is the LinkedIn Ads MCP server URL, and how do you sign in?
LinkedIn has published no URL, and its ChatGPT app installs from the plugin directory. Windsor.ai's server is https://mcp.windsor.ai/ with OAuth, once you link LinkedIn Ads in your Windsor.ai account. Supermetrics' server is https://mcp.supermetrics.com/mcp, also OAuth. Community servers run locally with a token from your own LinkedIn app.
- Windsor.ai also takes an API key as
Authorization: Bearer <key>for clients without OAuth. - Supermetrics offers API keys for server-to-server use.
GroMarketing/linkedin-ads-readonly-mcpneeds a token with ther_adsandr_ads_reportingscopes, and says tokens last 60 days.
What can a LinkedIn Ads MCP server read and change?
That depends on the route. LinkedIn's ChatGPT app only reads. Windsor.ai reads campaign data and can pause, budget and rename campaigns. Supermetrics lists read and write access, with new campaigns created paused. GroMarketing/linkedin-ads-readonly-mcp only reads. danielpopamd/linkedin-ads-mcp can create, update and delete campaigns.

What it can change
- Windsor.ai: pause or enable campaign groups, campaigns and creatives, set budgets and schedules, rename campaigns and replace targeting. It can also create a creative from an existing post, as a draft.
- Supermetrics: create and pause campaigns, and adjust budgets and targeting, after you grant write access per ad account. Supermetrics calls this early access.

How do you set up a LinkedIn Ads MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor?
LinkedIn's own route is its ChatGPT app. For Claude and Cursor, LinkedIn publishes no setup, so these steps follow Windsor.ai's. Create a free Windsor.ai account, choose LinkedIn Ads and grant access, then add Windsor.ai in your AI client. Supermetrics names Claude and ChatGPT and doesn't name Cursor. Stay on reporting until you've reviewed what can change.
Claude
Windsor.ai has a listed connector in Claude. Supermetrics has one too.
- Choose LinkedIn Ads in your Windsor.ai account and authorize access.
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, search for Windsor and click Add.
- Sign in to Windsor.ai when prompted.
- Turn the connector on in a chat from the + button, then Connectors.
ChatGPT
LinkedIn publishes a LinkedIn Ads plugin in beta, read-only on ad set performance. OpenAI says availability depends on the plugin, your plan and your workspace settings.
- Open the LinkedIn Ads plugin listing and select Install plugin.
- Connect your LinkedIn Ads account.
- Ask about ad sets in an account you have access to.
- For campaign changes, Windsor.ai has its own listed plugin. Open Plugins, search for Windsor.ai, select Install plugin and authorize access.
Cursor
Windsor.ai documents Cursor with a plugin or this config, which goes in ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
{
"mcpServers": {
"windsor": {
"url": "https://mcp.windsor.ai/"
}
}
}What can you ask a LinkedIn Ads MCP server?
Good first prompts stay read-only and name the ad account and dates. The first prompt fits LinkedIn's ChatGPT app, and all of them fit the fields Windsor.ai lists and its write actions. Any prompt that changes a campaign should show the change first. The dollar figure below is an example.
Reads
Show LinkedIn Ads spend, impressions, clicks and CTR by campaign for the last 30 days. Tell me which ad account and dates you used.
Reads
Break last month's LinkedIn Ads spend and leads down by seniority and job function. Don't change anything.
Reads
List campaigns that spent money last month with no Lead Gen Form completions. Show the account and dates you used.
Writes
Pause the creatives in this campaign with the lowest CTR. Show me the list and wait for my yes before you pause anything.
Writes
Set this campaign's daily budget to $100. Show me the current budget and the new one before you change it.
What are the limits of a LinkedIn Ads MCP server?
LinkedIn's API tiers set the ceiling for community servers. Development tier gives unlimited reads on ad accounts you administer but edits on up to 5, and Standard tier takes a support request. Windsor.ai's free plan covers one data source, one account and the last 30 days.
- LinkedIn's ChatGPT app is in beta with a limited set of functions, and it can't change campaigns.
- LinkedIn Ads edits through Supermetrics replace the ad with a new one, with a new ID.
- Windsor.ai says a targeting change replaces the campaign's entire audience, and the new audience needs at least 300 members.
- Windsor.ai says creation actions can't be reversed with a single action.
- Supermetrics creates all new campaigns paused, and you choose which live changes need human approval.
How much does a LinkedIn Ads MCP server cost?
OpenAI's listing for LinkedIn's ChatGPT app shows no price. Windsor.ai is free for one data source, and Basic is $23 a month, or $19 billed annually, for 3 sources. Supermetrics starts at €49 a month, or €39 billed yearly, for 1 user and 2 sources. Community servers are free, and you run them.
- Supermetrics' MCP page says MCP comes with any subscription, and also says it comes with plans that include Data API access. Its pricing page lists Data API under Enterprise, which is quote only, so ask Supermetrics before you buy for direct MCP use. Starter and Growth include a Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot destination.
- Supermetrics offers a 14-day free trial with no card.
- Supermetrics says campaign management is free with your subscription during early access.
What are the alternatives to a LinkedIn Ads MCP server?
The main alternatives are a warehouse route, or another ad platform's server if you run campaigns there too. If LinkedIn Ads data already lands in your warehouse, a warehouse server answers reporting questions without touching Campaign Manager. Supermetrics is the second hosted connector, if Windsor.ai doesn't fit.
- Supermetrics: A hosted connector with LinkedIn Ads reporting and campaign changes.
- BigQuery MCP: LinkedIn Ads reporting, if the data lands in your warehouse.
- TikTok Ads MCP: An official server, if you run TikTok beside LinkedIn.
- Meta Ads MCP: An official server, if you run Meta beside LinkedIn.
Which skill goes with a LinkedIn Ads MCP server?
Use the free Agent write safety skill before you allow any campaign change, because a connector with write access can move live budgets. Use the Campaign naming convention skill so LinkedIn campaign names stay consistent, which keeps reports clean when an assistant groups results by campaign.
- Agent write safety: Sets approvals before an agent can change budgets, targeting or status.
- Campaign naming convention: Keeps LinkedIn campaign names consistent so grouped reports stay readable.
