What does a lemlist MCP server do?
A lemlist MCP server lets an AI assistant run outbound work in your lemlist team. lemlist's server covers campaigns and sequences, lead search and enrichment, CRM records, inbox messages, analytics, deliverability and account settings. The same chat can find leads, build a campaign and start it, and enrichment spends credits.
- The
?bucket=filter trims the tool list to core, builder, prospecting, crm, engagement, deliverability or insights, such ashttps://app.lemlist.com/mcp?bucket=engagement. - The filter only changes what the server advertises. A narrowed connector still reaches the rest of lemlist through
call_api. - Some results can show as interactive panels if MCP Apps is on for your team, which is a progressive beta.
Is there an official lemlist MCP server?
Yes. lemlist documents the server in its developer docs and its help center, and its pricing page lists MCP server access on every plan. The developer docs also describe an official lemlist plugin in ChatGPT. You don't need a third party to connect.
- lemlist's MCP page links to a listed connector in Claude.
What is the lemlist MCP server URL, and how do you sign in?
The URL is https://app.lemlist.com/mcp. OAuth is the recommended sign-in: your browser opens a consent page and you pick a team. The other option is an API key in the X-API-Key header, which you generate under Settings > Team > Integrations. OAuth access tokens last 1 hour and refresh tokens 30 days.
- With OAuth, keep the word lemlist out of the server name. lemlist's registration rejects names that contain it, and its docs use
lminstead. - lemlist warns that an API key may not be viewable again, so store it when you generate it.
What can a lemlist MCP server read and change?
It reads and changes most of lemlist. Its tools can create, start, pause and archive campaigns, add and update leads, send messages, change DNS and mailbox settings, and spend credits on enrichment. lemlist says the tool list changes often, so ask your assistant for the current list.
What it can read
- Campaigns: list and preview campaigns and sequences.
- Leads: search a B2B database of over 450M contacts.
- Inbox: list conversations and read threads.
- Analytics: campaign stats, account statistics, call activity and tasks.
- Deliverability: check domain health.
What it can change
- Campaigns: create, edit, start, pause and archive.
- Leads and CRM: add or update leads, and manage contacts, companies, lists and unsubscribes.
- Inbox: send or reply to messages.
- Enrichment: find or verify emails and phone numbers, which spends credits.
- Deliverability: manage DNS, domains and mailboxes, and connect email accounts.
- Account: settings, webhooks and persistent memory.
How do you set up a lemlist MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor?
lemlist documents all three, plus Claude Code and Codex. In Claude, add the listed connector or a custom connector. In ChatGPT, install the lemlist plugin. In Cursor, lemlist's two guides differ: the help center shows OAuth or an API key, and the developer docs show an API key.
Claude
lemlist's MCP page links to a listed Claude connector. Its developer docs and help center document a custom connector, which these steps follow.
- In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it
lm, because OAuth registration rejects names with lemlist in them. - Enter
https://app.lemlist.com/mcpand leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty. - Click Add, then Connect, then pick your team and approve.
- On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it under Organization settings > Connectors, then each member connects.
ChatGPT
lemlist says it's an official plugin in ChatGPT, and that your plan, workspace and role decide if you can install it. Its help center limits full MCP on ChatGPT web to Business, Enterprise and Edu, and points Plus and Pro users to the desktop and Codex route.
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar.
- Search for lemlist and open the plugin published by lemlist.
- Click Install plugin, then sign in to lemlist.
- If the plugin isn't there, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server, enter a name and
https://app.lemlist.com/mcp, and set authentication to OAuth.
Cursor
lemlist's help center shows OAuth or an API key in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Its developer docs show the API key route, with an X-API-Key header. This example uses OAuth. On Cursor Enterprise, an admin may need to allowlist the server.

}What can you ask a lemlist MCP server?
Start with a read-only check, such as listing your campaigns, as lemlist's help center suggests. These examples fit the tool areas lemlist lists. Anything that sends, spends credits or changes a campaign should stop for your confirmation, so read what the assistant shows before you approve it.
Reads
List my campaigns with their status and stats for the last 30 days. Don't change anything.
Reads
Check the health of my sending domains and list anything I should fix.
Reads
Show my inbox conversations from the last 7 days and group them by theme.
Spends credits
Find and verify emails for the leads in my Q4 list. Tell me the credit cost and wait for my yes.
Writes
Build a three-step email campaign for this list and leave it paused. Show me a preview before you save it.
What are the limits of a lemlist MCP server?
lemlist hasn't published MCP-specific rate limits. Its REST API allows 20 requests per 2 seconds per API key. Credits are the other limit, because email finding, verification and phone enrichment spend them. A connection idle for about 30 days needs re-authorizing. ChatGPT web access depends on your plan.
- Tools that send, delete, spend credits or change campaigns need your confirmation. Read-only actions don't.
- The
?bucket=filter doesn't restrict what a key can do. lemlist says to scope the API key for that. - Replies come from people outside your company, so keep inbox tools out of chats that can also send or start campaigns.
How much does a lemlist MCP server cost?
Connecting costs nothing extra. lemlist's pricing page includes MCP server access across plans. The Email plan shows $69 a month, or $55 on yearly billing, and Multichannel shows $109 or $87. Enterprise is custom. Enrichment is an add-on: 2,000 credits a month cost $20, or $16 on yearly billing.
- 2,000 credits buy 400 emails or 100 phone numbers.
- lemlist's FAQ says pricing is based on the number of users. The plan cards don't say if a price is per user.
- The free trial includes 200 credits.
- In ChatGPT, your plan, workspace and role decide if you can install the plugin.
What are the alternatives to a lemlist MCP server?
Other routes are a rival outbound tool's server, a prospecting server, or an automation bridge. Zapier can expose lemlist actions as MCP tools, with a shorter action list, and each tool call uses two Zapier tasks. The GTM engineering guide covers approvals for Clay, Apollo and Instantly.
- Instantly MCP: An official server for campaigns and sending accounts, on an API key.
- Apollo MCP: People and company search, if Apollo is your prospecting tool.
- Clay MCP: Enrichment work, if your lists are built in Clay.
- Zapier MCP: A smaller set of lemlist actions through one Zapier connection.
Which skill goes with a lemlist MCP server?
Use the free Agent write safety skill before you let an assistant start campaigns or send messages, because lemlist's tools reach real prospects and spend credits. Use the Marketing context kit to write down your audiences, sequence names and sending rules once, so every prompt starts from the same definitions.
- Agent write safety: Sets approvals before an agent can send, start campaigns or spend credits.
- Marketing context kit: Holds your audiences, sequence names and sending rules in one folder for every prompt.
We set up Claude Code and MCP for marketing teams, with access scoped per person and approval before anything changes.
